GDIT is seeking a Web Development Manager to lead the engineering team delivering a new healthcare portal and data platform built on a modern Azure‑native stack. This role combines technical leadership, people management, and delivery oversight, ensuring secure, scalable, and high‑quality applications and data solutions in compliance with FedRAMP and HIPAA requirements.
The Web Development Manager will oversee a cross‑functional team of front‑end, back‑end, SQL/SSIS, and Power BI developers, working closely with architects, product owners, and DevOps engineers to ensure timely and secure delivery of mission‑critical solutions.
This role is fully remote!
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and manage a multi‑disciplinary development team, including: Front‑End Developers (React, Section 508, USWDS), Back‑End Developers (Azure Functions, APIM, SQL), SQL/SSIS Developers (ETL pipelines, on‑prem to Azure migrations), Power BI Developers (reports, dashboards, semantic models)
Oversee the design, development, and delivery of solutions built on: React front‑end, Azure APIM, Azure Functions, Azure SQL, Microsoft Fabric, Data Factory, and Power BI.
Manage development processes, including code reviews, branching strategies, and quality gates.
Partner with DevOps to enforce CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, ensuring automated builds, testing, and deployments.
Ensure compliance with FedRAMP, HIPAA, FISMA, and internal security and governance policies.
Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate Figma mockups into responsive, accessible applications.
Ensure all solutions meet Section 508 accessibility and USWDS requirements where applicable.
Direct and support data integration efforts, including ETL migrations from on‑prem SQL/SSIS to Azure SQL/Data Factory.
Guide Power BI development efforts, including report performance tuning, governance, and security model alignment.
Track progress using Agile methodologies in JIRA, ensuring backlog prioritization and sprint planning.
Serve as the primary technical point of contact for stakeholders, architects, and leadership.
Promote continuous improvement in engineering practices, testing, and delivery.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or related field (Master’s preferred).
8+ years of experience in software and/or data engineering, with at least 3+ years in a lead or manager role.
Strong background in Azure cloud services (Functions, SQL, Data Factory, Power BI, APIM).
Experience leading cross‑functional teams spanning application and data developers.
Familiarity with ETL migrations (SSIS to Azure Data Factory) and data warehouse design.
Knowledge of Power BI governance, performance optimization, and secure report publishing.
Experience managing in Agile/Scrum environments with JIRA or similar tools.
Familiarity with FedRAMP, HIPAA, or other regulated environments.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
Experience with Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards.
Familiarity with USWDS for federal web application design.
Hands‑on development background in SQL, SSIS, React, or Azure Functions.
Prior experience leading teams in federal healthcare application development.
Likely salary range: $93,500 - $126,500. Salary will be based on experience, geographic location, and contractual requirements.
