Position Summary We are seeking a highly capable
Contract Network Security Engineer
to join a specialized
Operational Technology (OT) Security team
led by our client. This team is charged with deploying cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions across critical OT sites nationwide. The role requires deep expertise in Cisco security technologies, hands-on implementation in industrial environments, and a commitment to extensive U.S. travel.
Key Responsibilities As a vital member of the OT Security team, you will:
Travel to OT sites across the U.S. to execute hands-on network security deployments.
Design and implement
Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
appliances in transparent and routed modes for OT/IT network segmentation.
Deploy and configure
Meraki switches
to enforce VLAN segmentation, replacing unmanaged OT switches.
Conduct routing and failover testing and troubleshooting using
SD-WAN
solutions in conjunction with Cisco Firepower.
Support rack-and-stack activities and assist with Access Point (AP) replacements at various sites.
Perform ad-hoc OT security assessments based on onsite observations and risks.
Create and maintain low-level design documentation and implementation reports.
Collaborate with onsite personnel and internal engineering teams to ensure successful and efficient deployment with minimal disruption.
Required Qualifications
Proven experience deploying and configuring:
Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD)
in transparent and routed modes.
Meraki switches
for VLAN and network segmentation.
Familiarity with
SD-WAN
architectures and routing/failover scenarios.
Hands-on experience in
Operational Technology
environments, such as manufacturing or critical infrastructure.
Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, and clear communication skills.
Willingness and ability to travel 100% within the U.S., including extended onsite assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, Cisco Security, or ISA/IEC 62443.
Knowledge of IEC 62443 and NIST Cybersecurity Framework in OT environments.
Experience with wireless infrastructure/AP deployments.
Familiarity with physical security controls in industrial settings.
Work Environment
Field-based role
across industrial sites in the U.S.
PPE
and safety training will be provided to ensure compliance with all safety regulations. Pay Range: $30-$35 / hour
