Position Summary The Director of Student Activities & Engagement is responsible for the overall direction and supervision of a comprehensive student activities program that serves the educational, social, cultural, and recreational interests of the college and provides students with opportunities to develop leadership skills. This position promotes a campus experience that expands student awareness of co‑curricular opportunities, fosters engagement in student organizations, and enhances a sense of belonging.
Essential Functions
Initiates and promotes student activities both on and off campus to stimulate and promote student engagement, personal development, and general well‑being. Encourages intellectual/educational development through recreation and cultural events, and other activities available in the community.
Supports campus activities hosted by students, clubs, and organizations with materials, supplies, and guidance. Purchases and requisitions materials and equipment that support campus activity and student engagement.
Advises and supports student leadership organizations on the Hastings campus, including the Campus Activity Board (CAB), Student Government Association (SGA) and/or others as assigned. Provides guidance in the planning, coordination, and execution of campus events and initiatives. Supplies necessary resources and fosters student engagement by encouraging active participation in event development and leadership opportunities.
Collaborates with CCC staff and community stakeholders to coordinate campus‑wide events.
Coordinates and supports intramural activities. Identifies and develops new intramural opportunities based on student interest and feedback. Ensures intramural space and activities meet environmental health & safety requirements.
Oversees campus student clubs & organizations in line with best practices and current trends. Acts as a liaison between clubs/organizations and Student Success, coordinates club & organization advisor training, interprets and evaluates pertinent policies and procedures for club & organization advisors and members, and guides new groups through the incorporation/recognition process.
Oversees daily operations of the Fitness Center, Game Room, and the Student Engagement Center, ensuring a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment for students. Provides direct supervision of the Game Room during the academic year, coordinating activities, maintaining equipment, and supporting student engagement.
Coordinates or assists with campus events, including but not limited to ACTIONS Day, graduation activities, Student Recognition Ceremony, orientation, welcome week activities, Campus Visit Days, etc.
Qualifications Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Education, or related field. Preferred: Bachelor Experience, 3 years.
