Building Principal / Director of Special Education
Position Overview Grand Avenue Middle School is seeking a compassionate and skilled School Psychologist (Leave Replacement) to join our student support team during a leave. The successful candidate will provide comprehensive psychological services to support students’ academic, social, and emotional development.
Responsibilities
Conduct psychological and educational evaluations, including standardized testing and data interpretation.
Participate in Committee on Special Education (CSE) meetings and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
Provide individual and group counseling to address social, emotional and behavioral needs.
Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, administrators, and families to design and implement student support strategies.
Assist with crisis intervention, behavioral consultation, and school-wide initiatives that promote positive mental health and well‑being.

Qualifications
Valid New York State Certification as a School Psychologist.
Experience working with middle school students preferred.
Strong knowledge of middle-level developmental psychology, social and emotional development, and evidence-based interventions.
Demonstrated proficiency in psychological assessment, report writing, and consultation.
Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
