Position Title & Department Assistant Professor Faculty, Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering 5395
Location University of San Diego, 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA 92110
Job Duties Teach core Electrical Engineering curriculum, including embedded systems, microprocessors, digital logic design, signals and systems analysis, and electrical circuits, with potential to teach courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning if assigned by the department. Develop and deliver course materials, curricula, and syllabi. Evaluate and revise course content and instructional methods in alignment with ABET accreditation standards. Conduct independent and collaborative research in areas including search and rescue robotics, molecular communication systems, and signal detection in noisy environments, utilizing technologies such as LiDAR, camera-based sensing, and embedded computing platforms. Supervise student research projects and laboratory-based learning in topics such as autonomous systems, digital signal processing, and embedded AI, using edge AI platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson Nano and Jetson Orin.
Job Requirements PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
