Job Description The University of San Diego seeks an Assistant Professor in San Diego, CA to join the Department of Electrical Engineering and teach core Electrical Engineering curriculum. Teaches courses in embedded systems, microprocessors, digital logic design, signals and systems analysis, and electrical circuits, with potential to teach courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning if assigned by the department. Develops and delivers course materials, curricula, and syllabi. Evaluates and revises course content and instructional methods in alignment with ABET accreditation standards. Conducts independent and collaborative research in areas including search and rescue robotics, molecular communication systems, and signal detection in noisy environments, utilizing technologies including LiDAR, camera-based sensing, and embedded computing platforms. Supervises student research projects and laboratory-based learning in topics including autonomous systems, digital signal processing, and embedded AI, using edge AI platforms such as NVIDIA Jetson Nano and Jetson Orin.
Salary Annual salary: $103,527 – $114,426/year
Minimum Requirements
PhD degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study.
