Job Summary
Rio Salado College (RSC) is seeking a full-time Student Services Specialist. This position serves in providing a full range of support services for the areas of International Education Programs & and serves as active support staff to the Welcome Desk. Assists faculty and professional staff with the planning, processing, and coordination of educational opportunities. Provides student service program support, enrollment, advisement, international education, and information resource referrals. This position works with a diverse population of customers, students, administrators, faculty and staff. The Student Services Specialist utilizes problem-solving and troubleshooting skills along with a wide knowledge base of campus, district and federal policies and training to assist students, guests, and employees regarding various student services functions. Requires excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate with diverse populations and ensures that staff and student workers are adequately trained to serve within the areas of International education and the Welcome Desk.
To best serve the students, department, and college, this position requires physical presence on campus.
Essential Functions
50%- Serves in primary functions related to planning, coordination, processing, and implementation of student service programs including student enrollment, advisement, mentoring and other enrichment programs; Assists with all aspects of international partnership programs recruitment, enrollment and retention efforts; provides staff coverage
30%- Provides general assistance, triage and appropriate referrals to other student service areas; works with a diverse population of students, administrators, faculty and staff; provides information and technical assistance regarding program guidelines and applicable laws, policies, rules, and regulations
10% - Coordinates and maintains department and other College database information and reporting systems; utilizes district wide CRM; collects data on program participation, prepares program reports, and works with management to identify and implement enrollment and retention strategies and student success opportunities; Serves as driver for events and student college/District sponsored activities
10% - Coordinates and organizes department resources; Assists with training of student workers and temporary staff; Serves as backup to the Welcome Desk; performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution, and one year full-time of student services or college teaching experience or experience assisting with educational program development and coordination, student advisement, financial aid, customer service, or related student development programs.
OR
An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.
Desired Qualifications
A. Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university B. Two (2) or more years' experience working with a diverse student population C. Two (2) or more years' experience providing in a high-volume office providing excellent customer service D. Two (2) or more years' experience working with state or federal regulations or policies and procedures as it relates to student services in a higher education setting E. Two (2) or more years' experience leveraging partnerships or working in a diverse team-based work environment to achieve shared objectives as well as the ability to work autonomously and independently. F. Experience using computer or web-based technology in the delivery of program and services (i.e. online databases, Microsoft Office, and internet resources) G. Excellent written and verbal communication skills (As evidenced in the cover letter and resume)

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: GED Examiner certification may be required for some assignments.
Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D Driver's License is required; employee must meet district minimum standards regarding driving:

This position typically requires fingering, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
