Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Administrative Supervisor and the clinical supervision of the LVN, Clinical Lead and Nurse Practitioner, the Sr. Clinical Assistant will play a critical role in the success of the project. These individuals will support a team of physicians, advanced practice practitioners, and nurses. They will also provide primary and preventative health care services directly to patients including screenings, testing, vaccinations, and other services within the scope of practice.
Sr. Clinical Assistants with appropriate drivers' licenses will drive vans and mobile units to offsite events. The role will require flexible schedules and workspace as the project adjusts hours and locations to meet demands.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy. Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement. Department Description
Mobile HeaL, which stands for Mobile Health and Learning, is UCSF Fresno's mobile clinic. Through Mobile HeaL, UCSF Fresno takes health care to communities where it is needed most and provides learning opportunities for future health care providers. Mobile HeaL provides accessible and low barrier healthcare to underrepresented communities throughout the city and county of Fresno. The programs aim to target traditionally disadvantaged populations such as the unsheltered, low-income, and communities of color that have significantly decreased access to quality medical care due to costs and/or insurance. We are staffed by members from communities we serve and seek to develop current and aspiring health care professionals through service to underrepresented communities.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma and minimum 2 years of related experience working as a Medical Assistant with CPT-1 license and/or EMT or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Flexibility with work schedule and location. Demonstrated ability and proficiency performing phlebotomy.
Preferred Qualifications
Proven professionalism and dependability Passion to serve historically disadvantaged communities within Fresno. Ability to create and drive a positive, caring, compassionate environment for our patients and families. Clinical knowledge and skill in the care of the newborn, infant, toddler, child, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients ranging from 0-100+ years of age. Flexibility to adapt to a rapidly changing environment and willingness to travel to various mobile health sites within the County of Fresno Knowledge of medical health record systems (i.e., Epic) Bilingual (English/Spanish; English/Hmong; English/Punjabi)
License/Certification
Current, valid EMT license or equivalent or higher in state of California and/or County of Fresno to serve as a licensed onsite clinician and/or certification from an approved Medical Assistant program or equivalent combination of training and experience with current, valid Phlebotomy Technician 1 Certification or equivalent or higher in state of California to perform phlebotomy. Valid CA driver's license-standard Class "C" to drive mobile units or ability to obtain within 14-days of employment. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers (BLS) certification.
