A leading construction and infrastructure services firm is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent to oversee mechanical operations on a high-profile project in East Hartford, CT. This role is critical to ensuring the successful execution of mechanical scopes including piping, HVAC, plumbing, and equipment installations. Job Title: Mechanical Superintendent Location: East Hartford, Connecticut Employment Type: Full-Time Salary Range: $110,000
$140,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage all on-site mechanical construction activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, specifications, and schedules. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and specifications to guide field operations and resolve technical issues.
Team Leadership & Coordination Supervise and direct field crews, including foremen and subcontractors, ensuring productivity and adherence to safety protocols. Conduct daily briefings and toolbox talks to communicate goals, safety updates, and progress. Foster a collaborative and accountable work environment focused on performance and safety.
Quality Assurance & Safety Enforce strict compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and contractual requirements. Identify and mitigate risks proactively to avoid delays or safety incidents.
Reporting & Documentation Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and safety documentation. Track labor hours, equipment usage, and material consumption. Provide regular updates to project leadership on schedule, budget, and field conditions.
Qualifications: Minimum 57 years of experience in mechanical construction supervision, preferably in industrial, utility, or commercial sectors. Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems including HVAC, piping, and plumbing. Proven ability to manage field operations, subcontractors, and schedules effectively. OSHA 30 certification preferred. Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with construction management software and digital reporting tools is a plus.
