Job Summary
Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC) is hiring a short-term Project Manager. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects that align with the college's goals. This position is responsible for leading phases of project development, from initial conception through to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget. This position leads project management for administrative services, facilities, program, and capital projects, supports the Administrative Services team, coordinates resources, and manages stakeholder expectations to ensure project collaboration and completion.
Essential Functions
40% - Collaborates with the Administrative Services team and stakeholders to lead various administrative services, facilities, program, and capital projects for multiple projects while developing work teams, project scopes, establishment of project budgets, milestones, risks, and deliverables; to include creating and maintaining comprehensive project execution, tracking, and reporting project timelines, and expenses.
30% - Develops and coordinates college environmental and occupational regulatory compliance for hazardous waste, chemical management, emergency preparedness and education and training. Performs basic research and preliminary analyses; gathers pertinent information and compiles, analyzes, and summarizes data and information. Coordinates with key stakeholders regarding regulatory compliance, facilities, workplace safety, capital improvement projects, other planning and development work.
20% - Establishes and maintains working relationships with staff, vendors, contractors, and other project stakeholders. If assigned supervision, plans, organizes, supervises, and assigns the work of others as needed. Administers reports, proposals, and program outcomes for various projects. Provides project troubleshooting and assistance to resolve issues related to projects. Provides management for project team(s) by building and motivating team members to meet project goals, and adhering to responsibilities and project milestones.
10% - Represents project strategies and communication plans that established goals and outcomes of the project. Independently responds on behalf of the department to issues or concerns while working closely with all of the department's leadership. Perform other duties as assigned commensurate to the grade level of the position.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business, or public administration, and of two years of full-time equivalent experience providing journey-level project management coordination and assistance, including preparing reports, maintaining records, tracking budgets, performing research, and assisting with project communication.
OR
Associate's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in education, business, or public administration, and of four years of full-time equivalent experience providing journey-level project management coordination and assistance, including preparing reports, maintaining records, tracking budgets, performing research, and assisting with project communication.
Desired Qualifications
Minimum of three (3) years experience in project management or related experience in education or government environment. Minimum of three (3) years experience leading administrative services, facilities or capital projects across multiple, concurrent projects. Experience with administrative services, facilities or capital projects of $10 million or more in construction, renovations, or remodels related projects. Minimum of two (2) years experience supervising employees. Minimum of three (3) years experience in gathering, analyzing, and summarizing data to support planning and decision-making efforts and familiarity with public sector or institutional procurement practices.

Possession of a valid State of Arizona Class D driver's license is required; must meet minimum standards regarding driving: requirements
