Quality Control Inspector | Clearfield, UT
Nexeo HR is hiring a
Quality Control Inspector
for a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in
Clearfield, UT . This is a full-time, long-term opportunity offering competitive pay, steady day shifts, and growth potential. Responsibilities
Inspect mechanical systems, welded assemblies, and fabricated components to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications
Perform dimensional and positional inspections using precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, weld gauges)
Inspect welds to verify size, quality, and conformance to AWS D1.1 and other applicable welding codes
Verify proper fit-up, alignment, and tolerances on mechanical and structural assemblies
Conduct pressure, leak, vibration, and functional tests as required
Complete inspection reports, checklists, and job records accurately and on time
Initiate and track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and corrective actions
Review and verify material certifications, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and welder qualifications
Interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols
Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to identify and resolve issues
Enforce and promote safety standards and PPE compliance on the shop floor
Provide feedback and support to welders and fabricators to maintain consistent quality
Assist in training initiatives related to welding quality and inspection processes
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required
Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Welding Technology, or related field
Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical fabrication, welding inspection, or quality control
Strong knowledge of AWS, ASME, ASTM, and ISO standards
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, fabrication drawings, welding symbols, and GD&T
Proficient in using precision inspection tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, weld gauges, ultrasonic thickness gauges, borescopes)
Familiar with MIG, TIG, Stick, and Flux-Cored Arc Welding processes
Experience inspecting welds and fabricated assemblies for quality and compliance
Ability to conduct pressure, leak, vibration, and functional testing
Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with ERP systems
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Comfortable working in outdoor and high-elevation environments
Must pass a drug screen and background check
English proficiency required; bilingual Spanish is a plus
Pay
$25.00–$30.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday – Thursday | 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Once fully operational, Friday shifts will also be required.
