Director of Recruitment & Business Development Position Summary
The Assistant Controller will play a key leadership role in managing the company’s accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity across financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. This individual will oversee the monthly close, support audits, and partner cross-functionally to streamline financial processes in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage all general ledger functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
Prepare and review financial statements (income statement, balance sheet, cash flow) in accordance with GAAP.
Support the Controller and CFO in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Manage the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Lead the coordination of external financial audits and assist with tax filings.
Analyze financial results and variances, providing insights to senior leadership.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
Assist in ERP and financial system improvements to enhance reporting and efficiency.
Mentor and develop accounting team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field;
CPA preferred .
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
Strong understanding of
US GAAP
and financial reporting standards.
Experience working within a mid-sized or large private company (preferably in manufacturing, distribution, or services).
Proven track record in managing the month-end close process and preparing consolidated financials.
Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP) and advanced Excel skills.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a growing, hands-on environment with multiple priorities.
