Role Description The primary objective of the Senior Accountant is to deliver accurate, timely, and useful financial statements to clients each month as the directly responsible individual.
Secondary objectives are to coordinate outsourced tax specialists and government offices to ensure continuity and compliance.
Payroll or HR related responsibilities are not included in this position.
This is a 1099 contractor remote or hybrid role for a Senior Accountant working with our Fayetteville, Arkansas location. The time commitment for the role will depend on the number of clients the Senior Accountant is managing. For the first 60 days, expect 5‑7 hours per week, dropping to 3‑6 hours per week.
The position has potential for promotion to Controller or Director of Accounting as the company expands over the next 1‑2 years of rapid growth. Initially, the senior accountant will be responsible for both bookkeeping and accounting responsibilities for 1‑3 companies, growing as quality of work is demonstrated.
This is a high‑responsibility position, requiring an individual eager to identify issues, solve problems, build systems, lead people, and own outcomes.
Depending on the client, the Senior Accountant will either serve as the Account Manager or report to the Fractional CFO serving as the account manager.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of Accounting Principles and Practices including Accrual based Accounting and Financial Reporting
Experienced in creating and maintaining efficient monthly close processes
Experienced in all bookkeeping tasks and responsibilities
Expert in Quickbooks Online; experience with SAGE or NetSuite is a plus, but not required
Proficient Microsoft 365, specifically Excel, Outlook, Teams, & SharePoint
Excellent Analytical Skills and Attention to Detail
Strong Communicator with high emotional intelligence
Strong Organizational and Time Management Skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or EA certification is a plus but not required
Previous experience in a senior accounting role preferred
