Tax Staff Accountant
The Tax Staff Accountant provides high-quality accounting and tax services for clients including tax planning, tax return preparation and business consulting. The Tax Staff Accountant works closely with all Partners and staff. This position has direct contact with clients in a variety of industries.
Responsibilities
Prepares income tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, trusts, estates, not-for-profit organizations and retirement plans.
Prepares payroll tax and sales tax returns.
Prepares multi-state tax returns.
Prepares and analyzes tax planning projections.
Quantifies and documents federal and state income tax liabilities for tax returns, extensions and estimated payments.
Performs research on technical tax issues.
Responds to client inquiries and taxing authority notices.
Keeps up-to-date on current accounting practices and changes in tax law.
Maintains the confidentiality of the firm and its clients.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in public accounting
Successful completion or working towards completion of CPA certification
Proficient with accounting software and Microsoft Office products
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical ability and judgement
Detail-oriented
Strong analytical ability and judgement
Ability to manage multiple engagements in a fast-paced environment
