Staff Tax Accountant

The Staff Tax Accountant joins to support the preparation of tax returns, assist with tax planning projects, and provide high-quality service to clients. The role is based in Westwood or Santa Monica. The Staff Tax Accountant gathers and reviews a client’s tax documents to prepare partnership, corporate, trust, or individual income tax returns. Ongoing internal communication with an administrative team and the supervisor/manager/partner helps maintain an efficient workflow to complete accurate and timely tax returns. Responsibilities
Prepare federal, state, and local income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts. Maintain organized work papers and documentation to support tax filings. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely and accurate completion of engagements. Research tax issues and stay current on changes in tax laws and regulations. Assist in responding to IRS and state tax notices. Assist other team members with accounting responsibilities as necessary. Assist with tax planning and special projects. Uphold the firm\'s code of ethics and business conduct. Qualifications
Understanding of tax concepts related to individuals, C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, estates, and trusts. General knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks, Agi Link, and/or Datafaction is a plus. Ability to interact and communicate with clients (written, verbal, and in-person). Ability to analyze issues, perform research, and apply recommendations with critical thinking. Attention to detail and ability to multi-task. Ability to work in a team environment. Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills. Able to work in an environment with many interruptions and multitask with composure. Always uses discretion when handling confidential information. Highly organized and efficient with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Able to adapt to new software and technologies. Dependable and takes ownership of responsibilities. Education/Experience
Bachelor\'s degree required in accounting or a related field. Demonstrates ability to effectively communicate with clients and internal staff. Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Proficient in Adobe and Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Physical Demands / Work Environment
Standing, walking, crouching, and regular lifting up to 15 pounds. Frequent use of hands and reaching with hands and arms. Regularly talking, hearing, seeing, and sitting. Moderate to loud noise level. Risk of electrical shock.
