Senior Fundraising and Communications Specialist

Full-time Regular Salary Range:

$75,000 To 90,000 Annually Job Summary Fundraising and Communications Specialist is a high-energy, dynamic multitasker responsible for developing and maintaining a vibrant and strategic community engagement program. This role serves as a key liaison between Forestdale and its partners, donors, government entities, and the broader community. This position works closely with executive leadership and the Board of Directors to drive visibility, engagement, and support for Forestdale's mission. Major Responsibilities Develop and execute annual fundraising plans across individual, corporate, and foundation giving. Lead donor cultivation, stewardship, and campaign execution. Write compelling appeals, donor communications, and impact reports. Support the board and leadership in donor outreach and relationship-building. Manage a portfolio of donors using MOVES management strategies. Cultivate and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors. Secure sponsorships, journal ads, and auction items. Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising efforts. Prepare briefing materials for leadership and board members. Plan and execute direct email appeals and donor communications to drive engagement and increase donations. Donor Database Management Oversee donor database (Network for Good), ensuring data accuracy and integrity. Maintain segmented mailing lists and generate reports on fundraising performance to track results. Provide training and support to internal users. Design and produce promotional materials (graphics, video, brochures, posters) to support Forestdale's programs and campaigns. Manage relationships with external vendors for printed and digital materials. Manage content for social media, email marketing (using Constant Contact), and the website. Provide photography/videography services for events and maintain a media library with properly completed client photo releases. Monitor Forestdale's online presence to maintain a positive digital presence and respond to reviews. Pitch stories to media and draft press releases and op-eds. Lead community campaigns (e.g., backpack and coat drives). Graphic design or video editing skills are a plus. Passion for mission-driven work and community impact. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Nonprofit Management, or related field. 5 years of experience in fundraising, communications, or marketing (nonprofit preferred). Proven success in event planning, donor engagement, and campaign execution. Strong writing, storytelling, and visual communication skills. Proficiency in donor databases (e.g., Network for Good), Constant Contact, Canva, and social media platforms. Experience managing events and donor engagement strategies. Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail. Commitment to Forestdale's mission and values. Graphic design or video editing skills are a plus. Availability for evening/weekend events and occasional travel.
