Summary Position eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP). Must meet eligibility requirements as per VHA policy and submit the application within four months of appointment. The program can award up to $200,000 for one to five years. Former EDRP participants are ineligible.

Willingness to Provide Comprehensive Primary Care Provide comprehensive primary care services to a defined panel of patients. Duties include history taking, physical examination, ordering labs and diagnostic studies, diagnosing and formulating treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions within scope of physician‑assistant practice. The provider is assigned responsibility for a patient panel at a specific location.

Responsibilities

Provide clinical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic diseases, preventive care, and coordination of care for a panel of primary care patients.

Document patient care in clinical records and refer to specialists when additional input is required.

Ensure timely documentation and resolution of clinical alerts.

Monitor PACT team performance to assess adherence to VA standards, assure quality and effectiveness of care, and meet VA performance measures.

Deliver outstanding customer service.

Assist the patient advocate and administration in resolving patient concerns and inquiries.

Exercise medical decision‑making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for a specific group of patients.

Maintain excellent communication skills, collaborate with staff and community, and elicit cooperation from others.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm

Proficient in written and spoken English.

Must complete online onboarding process and provide acceptable identification.

Pass pre‑employment physical examination.

Participation in seasonal influenza vaccination program required.

May be required to serve a probationary period.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in any discipline or a bachelor’s degree with one year experience as a PA.

Successfully passed the PA National Certifying Exam (PANCE) or currently in the process of taking it.

Currently hold, or will hold, a full and unrestricted license to practice in a state or territory of the United States or in the District of Columbia.

One year of primary care experience.
