Overview Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (1‑5 years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide clinical examination, diagnosis, and treatment of acute and chronic diseases, preventive care, and coordination of care for a panel of primary care patients.

Document patient care accurately in clinical records, refer to specialists when necessary.

Resolve clinical alerts and monitor PACT team performance to meet VA standards and performance measures.

Deliver outstanding customer service and lead patient advocacy and inquiry resolution.

Exercise medical decision‑making and provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services.

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members (social work, pharmacy, mental health, nutrition, etc.).

Perform additional duties as assigned.

Pay and Benefits

Competitive salary with regular increases and performance award potential.

50 days of paid time off per year (26 days leave, 13 days sick leave, 11 federal holidays).

Licensure

Full, unrestricted license from any U.S. state or territory.

Work Schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Telework: authorized for situational (ad‑hoc) telework; not remote.

Conditions of Employment

U.S. Citizenship required; non‑citizens may be appointed only if no qualified citizens are available.

Background/security investigation required.

Urinalysis for illegal drug use required for all selected applicants.

English language proficiency for direct patient‑care positions.

Selective Service registration required for males born after 12/31/1959.

Pre‑employment physical examination and seasonal influenza vaccination required.

Probationary period may apply.

Qualifications – Advanced Practice Nurse (Nurse Practitioner) Basic Requirements

Education: Post‑master’s certificate, master’s, or doctoral degree in Nurse Practitioner. Must graduate from an accredited program (ACEN or CCNE).

License: Current, full, unrestricted APN license in the U.S.

Board Certification: Full and current board certification in one of the following – Family NP (FNP), Adult NP (ANP), Adult‑Gerontology Primary Care NP (AGPCNP), or Gerontology NP (GNP). Certification must be from ANCC, AANPCB, or an equivalent national body.
