Software Engineer – Accounting – SS&C Technologies Location:

What You Will Get to Do
Work with a small, highly-talented, and fun-loving team to enhance our industry‑leading enterprise investment accounting system – Geneva – that serves the accounting needs of sophisticated clients in the hedge fund, fund administration, asset management, and prime brokerage space.
Collaborate with product managers to understand business requirements and translate them into robust technical designs. Participate in the design and estimation process, present alternatives, and identify the most desirable solutions.
Build incremental features from the product roadmap, concentrating on execution while taking ownership and assimilating new functionality into the existing code base with agreed‑upon design tenets.
Commit to quality by seeking out design and code reviews as appropriate.
Work in an Agile Scrum development environment.
Manage personal time and communicate plans and status to stakeholders, working with development managers to keep projects moving forward.
What You Will Bring
BS degree or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
2+ years’ experience in object‑oriented programming using C++ and/or C#; experience with enterprise‑wide, large‑scale system development is desirable.
Familiarity with Unix/Linux systems; we build on RHEL platforms.
Commitment to software development processes that promote high standards.
Excellent problem‑solving skills, determination to push through obstacles, and ability to multitask and prioritize under time constraints.
Knowledge of financial instruments and the financial industry, especially back‑office operations; experience with institutional portfolio accounting is ideal.
Experience with bug‑tracking and Agile tools such as JIRA and Confluence is helpful.
Willingness to collaborate across time zones and be flexible with working hours as needed.
Detail oriented, process focused, self‑motivated, proactive, and committed to excellence.
