We are looking for a motivated HR Generalist. In this role, you’ll have the chance to work independently, building relationships and supporting employees day-to-day, while also staying closely connected with our HR teammates at other locations. We believe in sharing knowledge, backing each other up, and working together toward our HR team’s big-picture goals.

As our HR Generalist, you’ll cover a wide variety of responsibilities from new hire onboarding, employee development and engagement, benefits, leaves, and policy guidance. Responsibilities

Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for hourly open positions in collaboration with department managers to understand skills and competencies required.

Facilitates pre-employment screenings and conducts orientations for new hires; is responsible for successful onboarding and training of new employees.

Serves as the primary point of contact for leave management, including FMLA, STD, and workers compensation claims in accordance with state and federal laws.

Assists and supports the weekly payroll processing, including the approval of time records of location employees and assisting in all payroll processing as needed.

Responds to general questions and inquiries from employees, applicants, and supervisors in all areas of human resources.

Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disciplinary matters; conflicts and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Assumes other duties and project work as required.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field, or equivalent combination of education and progressive Human Resources experience.

Knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws.

Experience administering FMLA and Workers Compensation.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Proficiency or experience with HRIS systems.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Basic benefits administration knowledge.

Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to prioritize tasks.

Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
