Responsibilities
Review high volumes of invoice coding for operated oil and gas properties prepared by field personnel, ensuring accuracy of index, general ledger, property, and AFE information in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Verify that all invoices include appropriate supporting documentation prior to processing.
Upload and post invoice batches into the accounting system.
Participate in rotating check runs with other team members.
Collaborate with vendors to research and resolve discrepancies or payment issues.
Prepare and process journal vouchers as needed.
Scan, index, and archive invoices in DocVue for recordkeeping.
Perform additional accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
1–2 years of direct experience coding invoices for both lease operating expenses (LOE) and capital expenditures (CAPEX) related to operated oil and gas properties for a U.S. onshore upstream (E&P) company preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external vendors and operators.
Familiarity with Excalibur or similar accounting software.
Experience using electronic invoice approval systems preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to manage high volumes of work under tight deadlines.
Collaborative, proactive team player.
Education
Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, plus 3+ years of accounting, A/P, or general office experience; High school diploma or GED with 5+ years of accounting or A/P experience.
