Description Salt Lake City Marriott University Park is a beautiful hotel near the University of Utah with gorgeous mountain and city views, modern amenities and an excellent location adjacent to Rice–Eccles Stadium. Our hotel provides smart, stylish lodging for business and leisure travelers visiting the Salt Lake City area.
We are seeking a motivated, passionate and detail-oriented individual to join our hotel staff as the Assistant Food and Beverage Manager. As part of our hotel management team, you will assist leading team members to ensure high levels of service standards while maintaining budgeted revenues and maximizing profitability.
In this role you will assist in overseeing the daily operation of 4 F&B outlets:
Starbucks Coffee Shop
Thistle & Thyme | Breakfast & Lunch
Sky Brook | Full-service bar and restaurant
In-Room Dining | All Day
Key Responsibilities
Uphold food & beverage service standards and safety protocols.
Supervise and coach service staff.
Adjust staffing based on business demands and forecasts.
Assist with scheduling, inventory, ordering, and cost control.
Maintain cleanliness and organization across all outlets.
Step in for the F&B Manager when needed.
Salary: $45,000 – $50,000.
This position will primarily work the PM shift. However, you will often work Morning and Mid‑Shifts as needed due to business needs.
Requirements
6-12 months of previous experience in a full‑service restaurant or bar management (hotel preferred).
Knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages.
Food & Alcohol Safety Certificates; must be acquired within 15 days from date of hire if not already held.
Good problem‑solving ability and professional demeanor.
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
Hotel experience is preferred.
Physical Requirements
Minimum lifting of 50 pounds.
Pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, manual dexterity.
Hearing, writing, typing.
Minimum pulling of 50 pounds.
Other duties may be assigned.
