Overview The Maintenance Mechanic supports manufacturing operations by performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production machinery and routine repair tasks with buildings and grounds. This entry-level role ensures equipment reliability and operational efficiency in a fast-paced industrial environment.

Your Role at Prestone Perform preventive maintenance on production equipment such as conveyors, presses, pumps, and motors. Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems and conveying equipment such as air compressors and chillers to identify and resolve issues. Assist in the installation and setup of new machinery and production lines. Replace worn or defective machine parts using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments. Maintain accurate work order documentation to submit for completion of repairs and inspections. Complete line changeovers as required. Maintain building fixtures, surfaces, and infrastructure (e.g., doors, windows, flooring). Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment performance and reduce downtime. Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards. Collaborate with production and Maintenance Mechanic II with emergency maintenance requests. Skills and Qualifications High school diploma or GED; technical certification in industrial maintenance or a related field preferred. Proficiency with hand and power tools. Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and tools (e.g., lathes, grinders, welding equipment). Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Physical ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. Willingness to work shifts, weekends, or overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements Indoor and outdoor settings, including mechanical rooms, rooftops and facility grounds. Manufacturing plant setting with exposure to noise, heat, and moving machinery. Requires use of personal protective equipment (PPE). May involve climbing ladders, working at heights, or in tight spaces.
