In partnership with Tampa General Hospital (TGH) Heart & Vascular Institute (HVI), the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences, Section of General & Preventive Cardiology, is seeking an academic non‑invasive general cardiologist for a full‑time position at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank.
This is a full‑time 12‑month salaried faculty appointment and carries attending staff privileges at Tampa General Hospital and affiliated hospitals. Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor requires a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Assistant Professor, or equivalent. Appointment at the rank of Full Professor requires a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Associate Professor, or equivalent.

Responsibilities
Clinical:
Participate in inpatient general cardiology consult service, non‑invasive call & coverage, read EKGs and stress tests; conduct outpatient clinics; diagnose and treat cardiovascular disorders; perform patient exams and order diagnostic testing; participate in Echo Lab; provide trans‑esophageal echocardiography, stress test coverage, and echo reads when certified.
Administrative:
Complete clinical obligations such as chart completion, patient follow‑up, and other duties required of faculty.
Other:
Responsible to a Chair or other administrator of a state university; perform teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities; advise students; represent the university or department as needed.
Qualifications
Medical degree from an accredited institution or highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization.
Demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.
For Associate/Full Professor: must have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed journals, and be a recognized authority in the field.
Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License.
Board‑certified or eligible in Cardiology.
Additional Minimum
Full, unrestricted Florida Medical License.
Maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals assigned to perform clinical duties.
Participate in teaching of residents, fellows, and medical students in clinical medicine.
Preferred
Teaching experience with students/residents.
Experience with administrative organization/leadership of outpatient practices.
Clinical research or scholarship experience.
Level II certification in Echocardiography.
Expertise in adult non‑invasive assessment of heart disease, echo and stress testing, adult congenital heart disease.
Experience with exercise testing, ECG interpretation, consulting, and attending in a coronary intensive care unit or similar environment.
Two years of experience in Non‑Invasive Cardiology.
