Senior Vice President of Finance

is a dynamic senior executive with multi-entity finance experience, a strong background in diverse industries, and exceptional strategic leadership and adaptability.

Position Overview A leading Hawaii-based land and resource company with diverse operations including hospitality, utilities, real estate, retail, and conservation is seeking an experienced Senior Vice President of Finance. This executive will oversee all financial and risk management functions for a group of businesses spanning multiple industries and locations. The ideal candidate is a creative, flexible leader who thrives in dynamic environments and brings an entrepreneurial mindset to solving complex challenges. You’ll work closely with the President and executive team to guide financial strategy, drive organizational growth, and support the company’s mission and long-term vision. This role is perfect for a strategic thinker who enjoys building solutions, adapting quickly, and leading teams through change.

Responsibilities

Lead financial strategy, planning, and analysis for a multi-entity organization.

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and reporting (GAAP and tax basis).

Manage cash flow, treasury, and banking relationships.

Direct insurance risk management and internal controls.

Supervise and develop finance and accounting teams.

Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and support audits.

Collaborate with other departments and external partners to drive business growth.

Represent ownership interests in meetings with hospitality partners.

Sponsor financial systems implementation and process improvements.

Skills

Strategic financial leadership across multiple business units or entities.

Advanced financial planning, analysis, and reporting.

Strong understanding of GAAP, tax compliance, and regulatory filings.

Risk management and insurance program oversight.

Team leadership, mentoring, and development.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement.

Experience in fast-paced, complex, and multi-industry environments.

Ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and organizational change.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred).

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is highly desirable.

Minimum 12 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior executive or VP role.

Proven track record in strategic financial planning, budgeting, and organizational leadership.

Experience with multi-entity or multi-business organizations preferred.
