Job Description We’re seeking an experienced senior bookkeeper to lead the end-to-end accounting function across 4+ entities (including two franchising entities). This on-site, full-time role is responsible for multi-entity month-end close, cash management, transactions, and compliance. It also oversees AP/AR and royalty administration, strengthens internal controls, and partners with leadership and operations to drive accuracy, scalability, and profitability in a fast-growing restoration & franchising environment. Responsibilities:
Leadership & Oversight
Own the accounting function across 4+ entities; set close calendar/SLAs and review checkpoints. Supervise day-to-day AP/AR/billing (internal or outsourced) and enforce
policies/approvals.
Cash & Treasury
Manage daily cash positioning and 13-week cash forecasts. Build/maintain recurring schedules (rent, insurance, debt service).
AP/AR & Royalty Administration
Oversee AP (Bill.com), vendor terms, and payment runs; ensure credit card/insurance program compliance. Oversee AR,
credit/collections,
and royalty
billing/collections
for franchising entities.
Month-End Close & Financial Reporting
Review reconciliations (bank, credit card, loans, merchant) and resolve variances. Approve
accruals/deferrals,
amortizations, prepaids, fixed assets, and depreciation. Ensure COA consistency by performing intercompany entries and tie-outs. Deliver monthly P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and variance/KPI reporting.
Compliance, Controls & Tax
Maintain organized documentation and audit trail; uphold internal controls. Own 1099s and sales/use tax coordination; support payroll journals. Serve as tax coordinator for the owner with external CPA firms.
Systems & Process Improvement
Optimize QBO, Bill.com/Melio, and reporting tools; drive automation and standard work. Train staff and franchisees on accounting
processes/controls/reporting
expectations. Onboard new entities (opening balances, COA mapping, class/location setup).
Qualifications:
Experience: 7–10+ years progressive accounting experience in multi-entity environments, including ownership of 4+ sets of books and leadership of
close/reporting/cash ; comfortable with high volume (~500+ transactions/month across
AP/AR/banking/cards).
Franchise/royalty exposure preferred. Technical & Tools: Strong GAAP; intercompany accounting; multi-class/location reporting; vendor/customer master maintenance; familiarity with job costing/WIP. Systems: QuickBooks Online, Bill.com/Melio, and advanced Excel (lookups, pivots); bill/receipt platforms. Execution & Communication: Clear, proactive communicator with operators and leadership; strong follow-through and documentation discipline; able to coach/train others and drive solutions.
