Occupational Therapist

to join our team at

The Occupational Therapist provides occupational therapy services to patients, including screening and evaluation, treatment planning, treatment implementation, re-assessment and revision, patient re-evaluation, discharge planning, and documentation. They participate in program planning and protocol development, assisting the team in meeting established goals. The therapist provides services such as treatment, training, and equipment recommendations under the supervision of a licensed occupational therapist, in accordance with state requirements. Provides evaluation services, including reviewing pertinent historical information, performing assessments, and documenting results. Explains findings and treatment plans to patients and families, involving them in goal setting.

Demonstrates proficiency in implementing treatment protocols based on evaluation findings and patient presentation. Consults with healthcare professionals as needed. Recognizes and documents changes in patient condition requiring plan modifications or additional consultation.

Completes discharge planning and follow-up care. Accurately documents and charges for care activities, including initial evaluations, progress notes, interim summaries, and discharge evaluations.

Manages time effectively to meet productivity expectations. Maintains an accurate schedule and demonstrates professionalism, flexibility, and empathy to ensure seamless patient access to care.

Pursues continuing education for professional growth. Serves as a clinical instructor and assists with orientation and mentoring of new staff, students, volunteers, and technicians.

Qualifications

Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Occupational Therapy.

Licensure in Maryland, District of Columbia, and/or Virginia as required.

American Heart Association's BLS certification.
