About The Role The Senior Geotechnical Engineer role involves leading geotechnical projects from inception to completion, driving innovation and ensuring top-tier quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Your technical expertise in geotechnical analysis, design, and execution will be critical in solving complex challenges. You’ll also play a key role in client relations, ensuring project success and profitability. By mentoring your team and managing each project phase, you’ll help improve efficiency, refine processes, and raise departmental standards.

Engineering Expertise:

Apply robust geotechnical engineering principles to analyze shallow and deep foundations, slope stability, and settlement. Provide recommendations for ground improvement where necessary.

Communication:

Regularly communicate with subcontractors and external clients to ensure project alignment. Assist in training junior staff and contribute to business development efforts for S&ME.

Technical Reporting:

Write detailed reports, prepare comprehensive proposals, and actively participate in marketing and business development pursuits.

Leadership:

Lead by example, actively supporting internal policies and practices, including health and safety, risk management, project management, and quality management.

About You

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering, Mining, or a related engineering field

Minimum of 10 years of project management experience in the A/E/C industry

Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain

Excellent computer skills including at a minimum, Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD

Are You Willing and Able to

Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment such as safety gear

Work outdoors the majority of the time in varying weather conditions

Walk over rough, uneven terrain and stand for potentially up to 12 hours a day

Routinely lift and carry 40-50 lbs, field/laboratory samples and equipment

Maneuver field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
