Pulmonologist at Howard Beach/New Hyde Park The Northwell Health Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is seeking a board-certified Pulmonologist to enhance the staff of a Northwell Health Physician Partners practice of six full-time physicians and two nurse practitioners. With well-established offices in New Hyde Park and Woodbury, the group is looking to welcome a physician to their growing Howard Beach, Queens location. A rotational opportunity will also be made available in the New Hyde Park office if desired. In addition to providing outpatient pulmonary care, the new physician will also be expected to do inpatient pulmonary consults at LIJMC and NSUH. Consultants may perform procedures such as bronchoscopy and thoracentesis if desired; however, the hospital’s intensive care units are closed and managed by a hospitalist group. Rotating weekend call is included. Fellowship training and Board certification in Pulmonary Medicine is required. Board certification in sleep medicine is not required but welcomed.

Responsibilities

Provide outpatient pulmonary care in a Northwell Health Physician Partners setting.

Perform inpatient pulmonary consults at Long Island Jewish Medical Center (LIJMC) and North Shore University Hospital (NSUH) as needed.

Participate in procedures such as bronchoscopy and thoracentesis if desired.

Collaborate with an established team of physicians and nurse practitioners, with rotating weekend call.

Qualifications

Completed an ACGME-accredited residency and board certified in Pulmonary Medicine.

Outstanding administrative, communication and management skills and the ability to work collaboratively with medical staff, hospital administrative leadership, and residents.

Must possess recent experience in generally accepted and currently used methods and techniques.
