Introduction Our client is an AAHA-accredited small animal hospital seeking an Associate Veterinarian to join their team in Ruston, Louisiana. This modern, well-equipped facility is focused on providing high-quality general practice services and offers a supportive environment for both experienced veterinarians and new graduates.

Working Hours / Rota The hospital is open Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 6:00pm. Scheduling is flexible, and the role can accommodate full-time, part-time, or relief veterinarians. Full-time doctors typically work three to four days per week, with no weekend shifts mentioned, allowing for strong work‑life balance.

Role Description and Responsibilities The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing general medical care, performing surgeries and dentistry, and managing a variety of cases in a well-supported clinical environment. The position is open to experienced veterinarians, but new graduates are also encouraged to apply and will benefit from a structured 12‑month mentorship program and access to a DVM mentor network.

Practice Details This hospital is equipped with advanced technology including ultrasound, echocardiography, digital dental radiography, digital radiography, therapeutic laser, and in‑house diagnostics. The practice offers services such as wellness care, dentistry, surgery, diagnostics, urgent care, senior pet care, microchipping, parasite prevention, and nutritional counseling.

Team The team consists of 2 DVMs supported by a 2:1 technician‑to‑doctor ratio. The staff is highly trained and tenured, contributing to a collaborative and mentoring‑focused work environment.

Candidate Requirements

Must hold the relevant degree(s) and additional qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the United States of America (USA)

Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state they are applying to work in

Must have the right to work in the United States of America (USA), or be able to obtain the required visa to do so
