Key Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of GSU campus buildings' BAS "Building Automation Systems," HVAC control, and laboratory control systems. Their work will entail inspections, preventative maintenance, minor system modifications, and installations as required for GSU's multiple BAS platforms. In addition to supporting the department, the HVAC & Digital Control Technician I also: Assist with maintenance and troubleshooting repair work of pneumatic control systems and conversations of pneumatic systems over to DDC HVAC control systems. Assist Zone maintenance with performance diagnostic testing of the HVAC systems controls including chillers, boilers, pumps, primary air handling systems, terminal unit controllers, humidity controllers, etc. Keep track labor hours and material usage in the Facilities Management work order system.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or GED and four years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
Preferred Hiring Qualifications
Knowledge of Ethernet network setup and troubleshooting procedures. Knowledge of VAV and CV laboratory fume hood control systems. Knowledge of large laboratory building ventilation systems. Knowledge of large chilled water plant and steam boiler plant operation and maintenance. Knowledge of procedures, tools, and equipment used in the HVAC trade. Practical oral and written communication skills. Ability to access confined spaces. Ability to work in open areas, such as rooftops, etc. Ability to climb ladders and scaffolds.
