Our Pharmacy Managers play a critical role in cultivating a culture of excellence in their respective pharmacy by acting as a role model for all, demonstrating genuine care, and setting the bar for their pharmacy team.
Key Responsibilities
Live our purpose by helping to manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
Oversee the pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening pharmacy performance measures through coaching and consistent follow‑up.
Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment by following pharmacy workflow procedures and using safety guardrails at every workstation.
Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, coaching the pharmacy team to do the same, collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance and medication issues.
Offer and deliver immunizations to keep patients healthy; identify, engage, and support Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
Manage pharmacy inventory by following best practices, with a focus on protecting cold‑chain products.
Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring all trainees are on‑track for timely completion of required training and licensure.
Ensure operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations at all times; escalates issues to the Rx DL as needed.
Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues.
Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, manage performance through direct observation and peer/team feedback, and deliver annual performance reviews.
Remain flexible for scheduling and business needs, writing or delegating pharmacy schedules.
Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans to close gaps.
Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, building psychological safety by opening the door for feedback.
Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills and seek opportunities to expand knowledge.
Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing, prescribing services, and holistic care.
Comply with all federal and state laws, regulations, professional standards, and ethical principles; uphold CVS policies and procedures related to patient safety and controlled substances.
Required Qualifications
Active Pharmacist License in the state where the store is located.
Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
1–2 years of experience as a pharmacist.
Essential Functions
Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.
Attention and Focus
Concentrate on a task over a period of time.
Pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs.
Confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety.
Customer Service and Team Orientation
Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner.
Notice and understand patients’ reactions and respond appropriately.

Anticipated Weekly Hours 41.5

Pay Range $65.00 – $78.00 per hour.
This range represents the base hourly rate or base full‑time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.
The actual base salary offer will depend on experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short‑term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
