Plant Controller

The

Plant Controller

will serve as the financial leader for the Buffalo, NY operation, responsible for managing all aspects of accounting, financial reporting, planning, and analysis. This role will oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; ensure GAAP compliance; and provide strategic insights that drive profitable growth. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will build scalable processes, support ERP implementation, and partner with operations to ensure financial transparency and efficiency across the business. Responsibilities

Oversee all accounting activities, ensuring

accurate, timely, and U.S. GAAP–compliant

financial reporting. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including

variance analysis, consolidation, and reporting . Support external audits to achieve an

unqualified audit within 90 days of year-end . Maintain strong internal controls and compliance with company accounting policies. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Develop, monitor, and analyze

key performance indicators (KPIs)

to track revenue, gross margin, and operational performance. Prepare

weekly operational dashboards and reports

to provide actionable insights to leadership. Partner cross-functionally with

sales, manufacturing, and engineering

teams for monthly business reviews. Identify and drive

cost savings, process improvements, and margin enhancement

opportunities. ERP Systems & Process Improvement

Support the

implementation and optimization of NetSuite , including data migration, testing, and reporting configuration. Serve as a

subject matter expert (SME)

for ERP financial reporting and dashboard tools. Assist with ERP integration efforts related to

future acquisitions

and growth initiatives. Capital & Production Planning

Collaborate with operations to align

production forecasts with financial budgets and projections . Monitor and evaluate

capital expenditures

to ensure compliance with ROI and strategic growth targets. Provide financial input on

capital investment decisions

and cost-benefit analyses. Review and enhance financial processes to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Lead

risk management initiatives , identifying and mitigating financial or operational risks. Ensure ERP, CRM, and IT systems support efficient operations and maintain

cybersecurity standards . Partner with supply chain and operations to improve

working capital, inventory accuracy, and productivity . Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience Minimum of

7+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience

in manufacturing, industrial operations, or engineered products. Strong understanding of

U.S. GAAP , standard costing, inventory management, and variance analysis. Proven ability to

analyze complex financial data , translate findings into actionable insights, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences. Demonstrated commitment to high performance, continuous improvement, and collaboration across functions. Preferred Skills/Experience

CPA strongly preferred Experience with

ERP systems (preferably NetSuite)

and financial reporting tools Experience with

OEMs, utilities, or government entities
