Summary Responsible for the successful overall direction, administration, and coordination of both the strategic and day to day activities of the Security department.

Essential Functions

Hires, promotes, trains, disciplines, schedules, directs, develops, measure performance and terminates Security employees, as necessary

Leads the security organization for the property, working with the General Manager, to meet department objectives

Leads Shift Supervisors to ensure each shift is operating efficiently and effectively

Ensures the quality of management operations in all areas of Security

Ensures employee performance standards, and departmental policies and procedures are in place and enforced within the department

Monitors all activities on property, to ensure that all applicable laws, rules, regulations and controls of the company, including but not limited to, OSHA and Nevada Gaming Control Board are enforced throughout the property

Authorizes security clearance and/or access to sensitive areas of the property.

Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations

Maintains fire control systems and personal alarm systems on property.

Organizes the Lost and Found Department on property.

Maintains good working relationships with various members of the business community (i.e., Nevada Gaming Commission, Police Department, Sheriff’s Department, Fire Department, etc.).

Routinely tours and inspects the property, identifying potential safety hazards, and reporting same to the appropriate person, for proper resolution.

Qualifications/Requirements

Minimum five years management experience within a hotel/casino security department, military or law enforcement organization, or an equivalent combination of any of the above.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, state laws, local ordinances, and procedure manuals.

Working current knowledge of the various security systems and equipment found on a casino floor

Excellent guest service skills

Present a professional appearance

Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group situations, as well as one-on-one

Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbal

Ability to maintain composure and management ability during crisis

Able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations

Efficient using computers, including but not limited to Word and Excel

High school diploma or equivalent

College degree in Criminal Justice or related field preferred

Minimum 21 years of age

Must be able to qualify under Golden Entertainment requirements with his/her weapon under PILB guidelines

Physical Requirements

Continuously walking and/or standing and working indoors (more than 50% of the time)

Occasionally sitting at a desk or table (up to 50% of the time)

Bending, kneeling, climbing and using chemical agents (up to approx 25% of the time)

Work for sustained periods of time maintaining concentrated attention to detail

Hearing, vision (including peripheral), speech and literacy (critical)

Ability to work in a smoky, noisy environment with bright lights, some dust, & hot and cold temperatures

Ability to communicate vocally utilizing portable radios and telephones (critical)
