About Us Middle Georgia State University (MGA), a multi-campus, baccalaureate and graduate degree granting public institution, is the most affordable public state university in Georgia. Department Information The Department of Education and Behavioral Sciences at Middle Georgia State University (MGA) is seeking candidates for a full-time lecturer of Anthropology. This position, beginning in Spring 2026, supports core education and will involve online teaching.
Job Summary eCampus (Middle Georgia State University) seeks a dynamic, innovative full-time online faculty member with a successful track record of teaching college level undergraduate Anthropology courses.
Responsibilities The faculty member will be assigned five courses in the Fall and five courses in the Spring. The online courses are taught using D2L Brightspace (GoVIEW), and the Lecturer is responsible for providing quality online instruction/facilitation. Faculty are expected to be available for their online office hours or online chats in addition to being engaged in course instruction and discussions based on the eCampus teaching expectations (as stated in the MOU).
This position involves teaching a 5/5 course load (15 credit hours). Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening classes, online, and/or video-conference classes.
Required Qualifications Required Educational Qualifications A relevant master's degree is required with a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the field of Anthropology.
Required Experience A minimum of three years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level, with at least one year of successful online teaching.
Experience with online learning and learning management systems.
Other Required Qualifications A commitment to supporting student success in an online learning environment.
Ability to convey difficult concepts online in a manner and to actively facilitate student understanding and success.
Preferred Qualifications Preferred Educational Qualifications An earned doctorate degree.
