Job Description We’re looking for a technically skilled and business‑savvy VP to join our Equities Client Strategy & Analytics / Front Office Global Markets team. This is a high‑impact role at the intersection of data engineering, analytics, and front‑office decision‑making. You’ll work with Equities Sales, Trading, Research, senior management, and TDS Technology to develop data infrastructure and analytics that drive client strategy and revenue growth.

The ideal candidate brings strong engineering expertise and a passion for building impactful front‑office tools, with demonstrated ability in data analysis and visualization. You’ll thrive in a fast‑paced trading floor environment, partnering closely with TDS technology on a business‑driven analytics roadmap to build scalable solutions that transform complex, siloed data into actionable insights.

The VP Trading Business Management TDS is responsible to provide the leadership team with information, reporting and support to ensure Trading operational risks are appropriately managed and adherence to internal policies / procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines is effective. This position also works with management / control function partners (e.g. Risk, Legal, Compliance, AML and Audit) to assess risks, develop and implement proactive strategies, tactics and programs to effectively manage regulatory and governance issues for the Trader environment.

Key Responsibilities

Build and scale data pipelines: Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL workflows that integrate CRM data, market share metrics (Coalition, McLagan), broker votes, and internal trading/sales data.

Deliver front‑end analytics: Create production‑ready visualization dashboards that enable Sales, Trading, and management to make faster, data‑driven decisions.

Own end‑to‑end projects: Take strategic objectives from the Client Strategy leadership and independently architect backend solutions and deliver polished front‑end tools.

Drive data quality and governance: Implement validation controls, automate data refresh processes, and ensure accuracy across complex data environments.

Partner across the organization: Work closely with TDS technology, front‑office stakeholders, and contribute to Markets‑wide analytics initiatives.

Solve business problems with data: Translate ambiguous or incomplete datasets into clear, actionable insights that inform client segmentation, opportunity prioritization, and competitive analysis.

Contribute to GenAI initiatives: Participate in the development and deployment of internal GenAI projects, helping to integrate data into LLM‑powered tools for front‑office use cases.

Continuously improve the stack: Identify bottlenecks, optimize existing workflows, and evolve our analytics infrastructure to support growing business needs.

Depth & Scope

Leads and manages the Trader business management functional area and overall operation of a diverse group in an area of moderate risk, complexity or scope.

Ensures an integrated approach with other business management areas, broader organization, and enterprise as appropriate.

Deep knowledge and understanding of businesses / technology, and organizational practices/ disciplines.

Focuses on short to medium‑term issues (e.g. 6‑12 months).

Generally reports to a Senior Manager or above.

Education & Experience

Undergraduate degree in Business (Accounting or Finance) or Mathematics/Economics.

Series 7 and 63.

5‑7 Years of related experience.

Sound to advanced knowledge of external competition, industry and/or market trends in relation to own function / business.

Ability to provide guidance on Business Management matters and respond to inquiries from business unit staff.

Must be detail oriented and possess problem‑solving skills.

Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and establish priorities.

Proficient in interpersonal communication (both oral and written), and have the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management.

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of hands‑on experience in data analytics, data engineering, or business intelligence roles, ideally in capital markets or financial services.

Background in Equities markets (cash equities, derivatives, prime services) or institutional sales/trading environments.

Familiarity with Sigma Computing or direct experience building production dashboards for front‑office users.

Experience working with third‑party market data vendors (Coalition, McLagan, Greenwich) and integrating their datasets.

Knowledge of CRM platforms and client analytics workflows.

Exposure to data governance, entitlements, and compliance considerations in regulated environments.

Degree in a quantitative discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance).

Demonstrated ability to iterate from MVP to production‑ready solutions with close collaboration with end users.

Mindset focused on automation, scalability, and self‑service analytics for business users.

Strong Python development skills with modern engineering practices.

Advanced SQL proficiency for complex queries, data manipulation, and performance optimization.

Experience with Databricks or similar cloud‑based data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS).

Proven ability to design and build data pipelines integrating multiple sources (CRM systems, third‑party vendors, internal databases).

Data visualization expertise using tools like Sigma Computing, Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.

Strong understanding of data modeling, ETL processes, and data warehouse concepts.

Exceptional organizational skills: ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and deliver under tight deadlines.

Excellent communication skills: translate complex technical work into clear business narratives for non‑technical stakeholders and senior management.

Business impact orientation: ability to connect data work to revenue, client relationships, and strategic goals.
