Role Description This is a full‑time on‑site/hybrid Senior Tax Manager role located in St. Louis, MO. The Senior Tax Manager will oversee and manage tax planning, tax compliance, tax preparation, and stay updated with the latest tax laws. Responsibilities include supervising, coaching, and mentoring a team of tax professionals; reviewing and signing tax returns; ensuring compliance with federal and state tax regulations; and delivering strategic tax advice to clients.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the review and final sign‑off of federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
Provide advanced tax planning, research, and consulting services across federal, state, and (as applicable) international tax areas
Lead technical discussions with clients, providing proactive advice on tax savings strategies, regulatory changes, and risk management
Oversee and guide clients through special projects such as entity structuring and succession planning
Supervise, mentor, and develop staff at all levels; provide regular coaching and feedback
Manage engagement workflow, budgets, and deadlines, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
Partner with leadership on firm initiatives, including AI integration and process improvements
Develop cost estimates and proposals for new client engagements
Qualifications
8+ years of public accounting experience
Expertise in tax planning and tax compliance
Strong knowledge of tax law and regulations
Demonstrated experience reviewing and signing tax returns for a variety of entity types
Proven supervisory experience with the ability to lead, train, and mentor staff
Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
CPA or EA designation
Software Familiarity (not required but advantageous)
