Some of the ways we accomplish this include: Emphasizing an open-door policy through one-on-one training, partners readily available to mentor employees, and a structured career path through Partner level Strong learning & development opportunities including technical and soft skill trainings, both internally taught and externally taught by well-known instructors “Dress for Your Day” dress code allowing jeans for the office and business casual when meeting a client Summer hours: condensed work week Monday through Thursday with an early close on Friday from Memorial Day through Labor Day CPA exam reimbursement program including CPA review program, CPA exam fees, additional time off, passing bonus and more Discounted gym memberships, wellness programs and a competitive benefits package The Opportunity Responsibilities Run client engagements from start to finish, including planning, executing, directing, and completing tax projects while managing to budget Supervise, train, and mentor associates and interns on tax projects; assess performance for engagement reviews; perform in-charge role as needed Review tax returns done by staff and provide recommendations for accuracy and tax savings opportunities; gain increasing responsibility in the review process Prepare tax returns for more complex individual, trust, partnership, corporate, and foreign tax clients Research and consult on various tax matters; utilize tax software to prepare and process returns and research tax matters Respond to inquiries from the IRS and other tax authorities Offer/recommend new tax strategies and assess profitability of potential acquisitions and mergers Identify areas of tax reductions and savings Occasionally travel to clients Minimum Qualifications 2+ years of progressive tax return preparation and compliance experience Strong tax accounting skills with proficiency in US GAAP, tax compliance, corporate and partnership returns, and state tax returns Bachelor's degree in taxation, finance, accounting, or business Ability to meet or exceed time constraints and goals Ability to work in a team environment, supervise staff and lead projects Ability to work additional hours as needed Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in accounting, taxation, or equivalent CPA license or in process of obtaining CPA license Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Tax software, ProSystems Engagement and CCH Axcess About Our Firm Grassi is a leading provider of advisory, tax and accounting services with offices in New York, Jericho, Ronkonkoma, White Plains, NY; Park Ridge, NJ; Palm Beach, FL; and Needham, MA.
