Position Overview Henry Ford Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled

Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

to join our dynamic

Employee Health

team in a

contingent

capacity, supporting

rotating hospital locations . This is an exciting opportunity to work across multiple sites within a systemwide Employee Health program committed to the well-being, safety, and regulatory compliance of all team members.

This role offers a unique blend of clinical care and preventive health responsibilities. The selected clinician will:

Provide clinical evaluation and treatment of workplace injuries

Manage bloodborne pathogen exposures

Support regulatory compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and CDC guidelines

Participate in and support vaccination programs, respirator fit testing, and medical surveillance initiatives

Collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team to enhance employee wellness and safety

Preference will be given to experienced APPs (NPs or PAs)

New graduates will only be considered if no experienced applicants apply

Schedule Contingent. 8-24 Hours per week. Schedule is open Monday – Friday, 730a-1600 (8 hours).

Provides Occupational Health Care with the supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Performs nursing functions independently. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure that patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

NP – Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

PA – Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

NP – Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan

PA – Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Licensure and Certification

Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan

National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by American Heart Association.

DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.

DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.

Clinical experience in Employee Health, Occupational Health, or Urgent Care

Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
