Employee Health Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (contingent) – Henry Ford Health Employee Health & Safety. Location: Rotating Hospitals, Employee Health (see below). Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% outpatient. Case Load: 100% Adult. Henry Ford Health is seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic Employee Health team in a contingent capacity, supporting rotating hospital locations. This is an opportunity to work across multiple sites within a systemwide Employee Health program committed to the well-being, safety, and regulatory compliance of all team members. This role blends clinical care with preventive health responsibilities. The selected clinician will:
Provide clinical evaluation and treatment of workplace injuries
Manage bloodborne pathogen exposures
Support regulatory compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and CDC guidelines
Participate in and support vaccination programs, respirator fit testing, and medical surveillance initiatives
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to enhance employee wellness and safety
Responsibilities
Provide clinical evaluation and treatment of workplace injuries Manage bloodborne pathogen exposures Support regulatory compliance with OSHA, MIOSHA, and CDC guidelines Participate in vaccination programs, respirator fit testing, and medical surveillance initiatives Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to enhance employee wellness and safety

This is a contingent position with weekday hours Involves rotating hospital sites within the Henry Ford Health system Preference given to experienced APPs (NPs or PAs) New graduates considered only if no experienced applicants apply Opportunity to help shape systemwide processes and standardization efforts

Education & Experience
Provides Occupational Health Care with supervision but not necessarily the presence of a qualified physician member of the medical staff. Takes patient history, performs physical examination, orders and interprets tests, makes diagnoses and institutes appropriate treatment programs. Performs nursing functions independently. Works in collaboration with staff physicians, house officers, nurses and other members of the medical care team to ensure patient outcomes are achieved in a safe and efficient manner. Specific procedures are individually credentialed as indicated by training and experience.
Qualifications
NP – Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by CCNE or NLNAC PA – Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by ARC-PA NP – Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan PA – Certification by NCCPA
Licensure and Certification
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required by American Heart Association DEA/CSL, required through credentialing
Note: DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses; PAs do. When NPs apply, MI license number is used in place of a CSL.
Experience
Clinical experience in Employee Health, Occupational Health, or Urgent Care Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Passion for preventive and population health
