About the Department The units directly under the Senior International Officer (SIO) are the Global Education Office (GEO) and International Enrollment Partnerships (IEP); in addition, there is close collaboration with other international-focused units at the university such as INTO Mason, Mason Korea, and Office of International Programs and Services (OIPS). These units collectively support the internationalization efforts of the university and in support of the Strategic Plan, serving both students studying abroad, as well as international students coming to Mason.
International Enrollment Partnerships (IEP) identifies new potential university partners, creates structured enrollment programs, executes new agreements, and maintains existing partnerships to increase the enrollment of international students at George Mason University. IEP supports special student groups including sponsored students and refugee students.
About the Position The MOU and Incoming Student Coordinator is a key member of the International Enrollment Partnerships team, instrumental in managing and maintaining George Mason's EMOU system, supporting MOU and Agreement renewals, and coordinating and providing student support to incoming exchange and degree seeking students in IEP managed programs.
Responsibilities
MOU/Agreement System Management
Manages George Mason's EMOU system for international MOUs and Agreements
Audits system
Troubleshoots and assists system users
Sends reminders and updates agreement statuses
Submits Notice of Intents or Renewals for MOUs and Agreements
MOU and Agreement Coordination
Manages and tracks new and renewing student exchange agreements and direct enrollment study abroad agreements
Manages and tracks IEP MOU and agreement renewals
Works closely with George Mason units to vet MOUs and agreements
Updates MOU and agreement templates when needed
Updates MOU and agreement templates to align with policy changes
Incoming Student Support
Coordinates incoming exchange students' admission, enrollment, orientation, and university life
Provides support and advice to incoming exchange students and students on IEP programs
Works closely with George Mason administrative and academic units to coordinate policy, process, and deadlines for incoming exchange and IEP managed programs
Communication and Outreach
Assists the IEP Operations Manager to schedule, market, and provide logistical support during virtual recruitment sessions for IEP managed programs and updates Incoming Exchange and IEP program marketing materials
Other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field or the equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience working with international students and/or international education programs
Experience managing data or databases
Demonstrated cross-cultural competency and/or foreign language skills
Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated attention to detail and time management
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in related field
Experience with program or project management
Experience managing partnership MOUs or Agreements
Considerable experience in higher education or a research university environment (typically three or more years)
Demonstrated ability to process and handle confidential information
Demonstrated problem solving skills
