$150,000.00/yr - $175,000.00/yr Position Summary

The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial reporting, accounting operations, and compliance functions for a portfolio of real estate investments within the REIT. This role ensures accurate and timely financial statements, maintains compliance with GAAP, and REIT regulations, and supports management with financial analysis and reporting. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of real estate accounting, consolidation, and public reporting requirements. Key Responsibilities

Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for REIT entities in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Ensure compliance with REIT‑specific tax and income distribution requirements. Accounting Operations

Oversee general ledger, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Manage the month‑end and quarter‑end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Review property‑level financials and consolidation for corporate reporting. Internal Controls & Compliance

Maintain and improve internal controls in accordance with SOX and company policies. Coordinate annual audits with external auditors and tax advisors. Ensure compliance with REIT rules and corporate governance standards. Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing training and performance feedback. Collaborate with asset management, property management, and finance teams on accounting and reporting matters. Support system enhancements and process improvements across the accounting function. Analysis & Support

Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Prepare schedules and analyses for board and investor reporting. Contribute to special projects such as acquisitions, dispositions, and financing transactions. Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s or MBA preferred). Certification:

CPA strongly preferred. Experience: 6+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. Prior experience in real estate, REITs, or public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) strongly preferred. Skills: Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements. Experience with REIT structures and consolidation accounting. Strong Excel and ERP system skills (e.g., Yardi, MRI, Oracle, Workiva). Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
