Job Title
BIM / VDC Coordinator
Location Dayton, OH
Summary EMCOR Group, Inc. is seeking a BIM / VDC Coordinator to support our electrical construction projects. The Coordinator will coordinate 2D/3D modeling, shop drawings, and clash resolution to support project delivery.
Responsibilities
Review and produce 2D and 3D electrical drawings for field installations and coordinate with subcontractor trades.
Participate in coordination meetings to resolve clashes while maintaining budget, constructability, and NEC code requirements.
Produce shop drawings, cross‑sections of underground conduits and cables for fabrication and installation.
Prepare RFIs and follow‑up responses to clarify design intent.
Read architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical floor plans, sections, and elevations.
Collaborate with Engineer of Record and project management to resolve issues and explain drawings to production or construction teams.
Travel to project sites as required.
Qualifications Education / Experience
Journeyman Electrician license OR prior experience as an Assistant BIM/VDC Detailer or related engineering/technical design role.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 2 years of drafting experience; 3 years preferred.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and BIM 360 / BIM Collaborate.
Understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and RFIs across trades.
Strong 3‑D coordination and collaboration skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Preferred
5 years of BIM/VDC experience.
Experience with model viewing/collaboration software such as BIM 360 Glue.

Strong problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
Excellent communication across all levels of construction personnel.
Detail oriented, organized, and efficient in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to work independently on site and remotely.
Physical Demands The position requires sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, and using hands to operate tools and equipment. Travel to multiple sites may involve driving or traversing roofs, tunnels, or catwalks.
