GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY:
The scope of this position is to move, deliver, organize, cycle count, and track various materials and components within the manufacturing operations of Orenco Systems. Primary duties include movement and accounting of WIP (work in progress), subcomponents, and finished products. Responsible and accountable for the direct electronic movement of raw material, WIP, and finished goods.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & KRA (Key Result Areas):
> Safety/Culture
Continuously maintains Orenco management's safety, cultural, and professional standards.
Promotes, encourages, and reinforces a positive safety culture, safe practices, and a safe work environment to all employees.
> Planning
Ability to navigate computer systems to look up part locations, check inventory, and orders.
Maintains and organizes various materials in corresponding storage areas using appropriate apps.
Inventory control and cycle counting.
Order raw material from warehouse in assigned area.
Deliver finished goods within two days of order ship date.
> Communication
Communicates in a professional manner with receiving, transfer drivers, production, and inventory control staff to prioritize workload for handling subcomponents and other shop specific materials.
Informs management of overstocking or inventory shortages and helps them determine reorder points and max inventory levels.
> Communicates with warehouse staff and work cells to coordinate, prioritize, and schedule the movement of support materials and finished goods in and around the shop.
> Material Handling
Operate fork trucks, carts and pallet jacks.
Use of handheld scanners.
Tracks and delivers goods from drop zones.
Responsible for accurately putting product in appropriate designated bin locations/drop zones
Requests transfers to re-stock-controlled inventory in various locations.
Anticipates and responds to material needs of specific work centers assigned.
Reports inventory shortages and count issues to the Shipping and Material Handling Manager and Material Control Manager.
Performs cycle counts of subcomponents, WIP, and other departmental materials.
Performs daily safety inspection on forklift before operation and re-fuels when necessary.
Organizes movement of subcomponents, finished goods and WIP materials throughout shops in a manner that eliminates delays or inefficient production scheduling.
Empties trash dumpsters into the appropriate receptacle as they are filled or at end of shift.

Keeps materials areas clean, organized, and free of safety hazards.
Attends and participates in team meetings.
Must be willing to cross-train in similar duties within job description at multiple locations in the company.
> Work is to be done during manufacturing business hours, which may include an occasional early and/or later shift as needed. Occasional overtime may be required.
> Regular, consistent, and predictable attendance is required.
> Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
No minimum requirement.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum one year in Material Handler I role before advancing to Material Handler II and completion of skills sign off by the and Material Handling Manager.
Must be forklift certified and demonstrate proficiency by constantly demonstrating competent and safe driving practices with forklift. (Or achieve forklift cert within 30 days of hire).
Completion of initial eight-hour Emergency Response & HazWopper Operations level training is required. Completion of the annual eight-hour HazWopper-Operations Level training is required thereafter. Training description: Emergency communication, alarms and evacuation routes, contingency plan implementation/emergency response procedures, emergency equipment use and inspection, incident response (fire, explosion, soil, and water contamination), and site shut down procedures. Hazardous waste management - handling and storage rules.
Demonstrates safe handling of these products.
Must have or be able to quickly and efficiently acquire a good working knowledge of where parts are located.
Demonstrates adequate reading, writing, and math skills to perform job duties well.
Proficient in counting and entering data for transactions/transfers.
Must have excellent listening and communication skills as well as excellent interpersonal relations skills including flexibility and patience.
Avoids distracting conversations unrelated to work needs.
Shows positivity and avoids disruptive behaviors that negatively impact the team such as gossip or triangulation.
Demonstrates attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to prioritize according to need and uses available time in a productive manner.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Indoor/outdoor production, warehouse, and office environments involving exposure to chemicals, styrene, paints and solvent fumes and/or dusts. Exposure levels are below standard limits. Respirators are available for use with proper medical certification and training. Protective equipment such as Tyvek suits, dust masks, hearing protection and gloves are provided. Outside production areas will include exposure to fluctuating weather conditions.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Regular job duties include seeing, speaking, hearing, reading, writing, keyboarding, periods of sitting including time viewing a computer screen. Time on manufacturing floor includes prolonged periods of standing and walking on concrete floors, kneeling, climbing stairs and ladders, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, holding, measuring, cutting, stacking, bending, twisting, stooping, squatting, repetitive foot and hand movement with good manual dexterity. Duties may require unassisted lifting of up to 50 lbs. and occasionally up to 70 lbs., lifting over 70 lbs. must be assisted. Occasional operation of a motor vehicle.
