The Florida Commission on Offender Review is looking to fill a Commission Investigator – CS, 20 hours a week, part-time, in the Office of Clemency Investigations. This position is in Tampa, Florida and is for the Florida Commission on Offender Review (formerly the Florida Parole Commission). Conduct comprehensive confidential clemency investigations for the Board of Executive Clemency; reports are provided to the Commissioners of FCOR and the Board of Executive Clemency. Perform clemency investigations for various forms of clemency (e.g., firearm authority, pardon, commutation of sentence, remission of fines and forfeitures, restoration of civil rights). Conduct Restoration of Civil Rights Investigations without Hearing, verify status of pecuniary penalties and restitution, and determine eligibility for clemency consideration under the Rules of Executive Clemency. Assist in providing a broad historical and activities picture of applicants as part of the investigative process before submission to the Board of Executive Clemency. Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System. Ability to work independently and under stressful conditions. Ability to interact with victims and conduct interviews and investigations. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency with personal computers and time management; strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to create and maintain cooperative working relationships. Minimum Requirements

A bachelor’s degree preferred or a minimum of four years of experience working in criminal justice. Two years equivalent work experience can substitute for the college education. Preferences

Preference may be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university. Special Notes

Background screening is required: State and National criminal history check, fingerprinting (FDLE and FBI), and may include local checks; re-screening at least every five years.
