High School Concert Band Sectional Instructor -- Percussion
Job Description The High School Concert Band Sectional Instructor provides focused, small-group instruction to band students during sectional rehearsals. The instructor works closely with the Instrumental Music Director to develop students’ technical proficiency, musicality, and ensemble performance skills on their specific instrument group (percussion).
Responsibilities
Lead sectional rehearsals that reinforce tone quality, intonation, rhythm, and ensemble balance
Assist students in mastering concert repertoire and performance techniques
Model proper tone production, articulation, and posture
Provide individualized feedback to help students improve their musicianship
Collaborate with the Instrumental Music Director to align instruction with program goals and upcoming performances
Qualifications
Strong performance and teaching background on assigned instrument(s)
Experience working with high school musicians preferred
Excellent communication and classroom management skills
Ability to inspire and motivate students in a positive learning environment
