The MusicianShip . The Band Instructor will guide students through the fundamentals of wind and brass instruments, focusing on technique, tone production, reading music, and ensemble performance. The instructor will help students build confidence, discipline, and teamwork in preparation for performances throughout the school year, such as TMS and site-specific events, in addition to our End-of-Year Showcase. Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans and rehearsals that focus on ensemble playing, musical technique, and performance skills Teach students proper instrumental technique, tone production, rhythm, and musical interpretation across a range of instruments Lead students in rehearsals and performances, preparing them for showcases, concerts, and community events Foster a collaborative and inclusive ensemble environment that values teamwork, listening, and mutual respect Guide students in understanding musical styles, genres, and repertoire, encouraging versatility and broad appreciation Provide individualized feedback and sectional instruction to support students' growth within the ensemble Cultivate students' stage presence, confidence, and professionalism in performance settings Encourage students to connect music-making to self-expression, discipline, and community-building, supporting their personal and artistic development Manage classroom instruments and equipment, ensuring they are used safely, responsibly, and effectively Requirements
Proficiency in wind/brass instruments Prior teaching or mentorship experience Ability to prepare youth for live performance Proficiency in Google Workplace Lesson Planning Classroom & Behavior Management Compensation & Benefits
