The Department of Educational Leadership, Curriculum and Special Education (ELCSE) of the College of Education and Behavioral Science offers a Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership, (which is housed in the Center for Excellence in Education), a Master of Science in Education degree and a Specialist in Education degree with tracks in Building Principal, Curriculum Director, Special Education Director, Gifted & Talented Director, School Superintendent, K-12 Special Education Instructional Specialist, Gifted & Talented Instructional Specialist, and College Student Personnel Services. In addition, the department offers Graduate Certificates in several areas. The programs are nationally recognized by CAEP and their specific Special Program Areas (SPAs). Applicants are invited to apply for an Assistant Professor non-tenure track position. The successful candidate will teach in an online Educational Leadership Superintendent program for District Level Administrators. The Department of Educational Leadership, Curriculum, and Special Education is seeking an individual with experience as a superintendent and familiar with K-12 educational policy and practices. Experience teaching online and building online courses is preferred. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for teaching, service, and related administrative activities such as program director for the superintendency program. The successful candidate will be a strong collaborator and have a desire to connect with colleagues and build relationships to ensure a strong program. Duties & Responsibilities:
Teach all assigned courses Build and work with a team of adjuncts to support the courses the candidate designs or courses already designed Work collaboratively with faculty in the Educational Leadership and other department programs Serve on dissertation committees Maintain a strong research agenda as evidenced by refereed publications and professional presentations Serve as program director for the EdS in Superintendency Coordination of assessment and accreditation-related activities. Mentoring and advising educational leadership candidates Participate in all departmental and program faculty meetings Serve on department, college, and universities committees Carry out other functions as may be appropriate to the position and the Educational Leadership program Other duties as assigned Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Knowledge of NELP District level standards Ability to handle multiple responsibilities at once Knowledge and experience with online learning management systems, specifically Blackboard General Days/Hours:
Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance Other:
