Overview

We are seeking a thoughtful, steady, and hands-on Housekeeper/Nanny to support the home of an entrepreneur and single mom in New York City. This is a hybrid role that combines childcare with practical household support including cleaning. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day care of a bright, active 10-year-old boy and for ensuring the cleanliness, organization, and smooth running of the home.

This is a deeply service-oriented position for someone who finds pride in creating calm, order, and support in a family's daily life. You'll work as part of a respectful, communicative household team, reporting directly to the Personal Assistant and coordinating regularly with the Brand Manager/EA.

The Heart of the Role

This is not just a nanny role or a housekeeper position-it's both, fully integrated. The Nanny/Housekeeper role is for someone who sees caring for a child and maintaining a well-run home as deeply connected. You bring warmth, structure, and sound judgment to both, balancing emotional intelligence with initiative, reliability and common sense. Whether helping with homework, managing household cleaning, or preparing a snack, you're present, thoughtful, and consistent-a steady, grounding presence who takes pride in being of service.

Key Responsibilities

Childcare & Family Support • Care for a 10-year-old boy: school pickups, after-school routines, meals, activities, and companionship • Support homework and school projects with encouragement and appropriate guidance when needed • Ensure safe and engaged supervision during school closures, schedule changes, or when the child is home sick • Model calm, grounded behavior and serve as a steady, positive influence in his life

Household Operations • Take ownership of housekeeping: laundry, cleaning, tidying, and maintaining kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces • Handle light cooking and meal prep; ensure groceries and household supplies are well-stocked and ordered on a consistent basis • Maintain and at times generate systems of organization in the home-closets, drawers, cabinets, school materials, etc. • Errand running as needed and being proactive in general about noticing and addressing needs around the home • "If a lightbulb is out, switch it" mentality • Bring a spirit that values solving problems and providing support wherever it is needed

Team Integration • Coordinate closely with the Personal Assistant, who oversees the household staff and their schedules • Be part of a respectful team culture where reliability, communication, and mutual support are core values

Travel • Occasionally travel with the family, including weekends upstate or other family trips • Occasionally prep the upstate home in advance of family arrival (may require traveling up a day early)

Ideal Candidate Profile • Hands-on and hardworking. You're not above any task, and you take genuine satisfaction in keeping things clean, organized, and flowing • Warm but steady. You're a nurturing presence for children-emotionally available, but grounded and calm under pressure • Emotionally intelligent. You can read a room like a pro, set and maintain healthy boundaries, and communicate with clarity, respect, and kindness • Adaptable and self-directed. You shift easily between roles-managing laundry, tidying up, running errands, or helping with homework-all with the same care • Service-minded. You see your work as meaningful. Supporting a single mother balancing entrepreneurship and family life feels to you like a role with purpose • Team player. You thrive in a thoughtful, organized household where coordination, trust, and mutual support are foundational

Additional Details • Candidates must have a valid driver's license, pass a thorough background check, and have verifiable references • Prior experience in similar blended roles (nanny/housekeeper or family assistant) is strongly preferred • Must be based in or near New York City
