Overview
A Washington, DC based, high-end residential interior design firm is seeking an interior designer with an architectural background. We are open to fill a junior, mid, or senior designer position based on experience level. This designer will be responsible for all project deliverables as well as maintaining the project schedule. They will collaborate with principals and other design team members to fully execute design projects from conception to completion, coordinate design presentations, and manage concept development and execution. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of projects, including client relations, aesthetic development, space planning, finish selection, product/furniture specification, budgeting, design development, construction documents and administration, procurement, and overall client management. Job Requirements
4 or more-year degree in interior design or architecture. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in interior design or architecture. Extensive knowledge of architectural standards and drafting. High proficiency in AutoCAD required, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, electrical plans, furniture plans, elevations, and millwork detail drawings. Knowledge of SketchUp preferred. Knowledge of Studio Designer or similar design purchasing software preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required. Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the field of interior design and architecture. Knowledge of high-end residential fabric and furniture brands and practices. High proficiency in specifications and producing project schedules. Ability to work well in a collaborative setting and independently on projects without supervision. Ability to work well under pressure, multi-task, prioritize, and consistently meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Education and Experience
